How old was your character at the time of the trials? Was your character married or single?

What was your historical figures social and economic status in the Salem community? What did your character doing for a living? Was he well off? Would he be considered educated, upper class, or lower class?

  • Rev. Samuel Parris was 39 at the time of the trials.
  • He was married to Elizabeth Eldridge.

His social status would be debatable. Parris was a reverend, well off, educated, and well respected as a reverend but not as a person.

Was your character accused of witchcraft? Or was he/she an accuser?

Samuel was the biggest accuser, there were 19 cases of him accusing of witchcraft. When the trials began Parris would submit complaints, serve as a witness, and testify against many of those who were accused.

Parris is a reverend and some people could say he's a good christian but it could be debated
