It is a camera-cinematic technique in film production where film producers combining foreground performances with pre-filled backgrounds. For a simpler definition, A shot that will be composited from two other shots. It is also known as Green Screening.
One of the biggest Uses of Process Shots were for driving scenes. or to show other forms of distant background motions. Process shots are used because by using the background image and the foreground movement creating a distinctive, washed-out, and distinctive look catching the viewers.

Green Screening is the technique of photographing or filming an actor or object against a green monochrome backdrop, and replacing the backdrop with material from a different image using a color filter. This creates the perfect background that the Director wants.
