What are syllables?
Break down three words from week 4 and 5 spellings into separate syllables. Separate them with hyphens e.g.
acc-i-dent-a-lly
- A focus on nature
- A division somewhere in the poem, between one thing and another. The relationship between them is sometimes surprising.
- shows the details that cause emotion rather than describing feeling e.g. if the sight of an empty winter sky made the poet feel lonely, simply describing that sky can give the same feeling to the reader.
- Line (1) = 5 syllables. Line (2) = 7 syllables. Line (3) = 5 syllables
Read these two haiku then brainstorm a definition
