Now for an intermission...

Step 4: Consumption

Some potential stakeholders for Head and Shoulders shampoo are the workers who work in the plants factories and landfills where the plastic is discarded. Another stakeholder would be environmentalists who care about the environment and Head and Shoulders many like other companies use toxins and other chemicals that aren't good for the environment.

Now the step where all of the money is made and the only reason more products are made is due to this 'consumption'. This is probably the most important step in the life cycle of a product. The step where the person goes to the store after hearing the product commercialized on the TV. You drive to the store pay about $10 for the shampoo and then simply take it home its resting place for the next few weeks. Now that your money has been taken it will now go to the corporations and eventually to the government.

Step 3: Distribution

Now what really sells Head and Shoulders as a product is how it is commercialized the way that people look at Head and Shoulders is something that will make you look amazing and have all of the hot guys on the football teams numbers. Though this is not 100% true the product that we now believe is cleaning our hair will now make us popular and sexy overnight. Then after this bottle of hair product has been made and shipped out to a nearby store and I guarantee it will be sold for far more than what it actually cost to make and ship this product.

Step 5: Disposal

Now after this product has sat in your home for a few weeks and you have used every little drop of it to get the most for your money you throw it in the recycling. After this you will have no idea where this product goes and what will happen to it. Allow me to enlighten you, the empty plastic bottle will be thrown into a recycling plant where it can be broken down and used again and again and AGAIN! At these recycling plants they use many types of machinery which pollutes the environment although recycling is supposed to be perfectly clean and good for the community. A recycling plant overall will ruin a community due to constant smoke which may lead to disease and illness.

Step 2: Production

By Ethan Harling & Najji Abid

Now moving on from the basics, this is the time when the plastic bottle is made and the fluids inside are made. From extraction after it has been taken to a factory likely located in Mexico or China where labor is cheapest all of the materials are taken to a factory where they begin building the plastic bottle, after the bottle has been made it will go to the next step. This step is where the empty bottle will be filled with the liquid that cleanses our hair.

Step 1: Extraction

The first step to making a single bottle of Head and Shoulders shampoo is extraction. In a nutshell this creates many low paying physical jobs. This overall just takes the bare necessities such as the plastic that is only the bottle. For the fluids that go into the bottle they use many chemicals that may not be the best for hair for example a lot of sodium is used some of which cause dryness in your scalp.

Conclusion

Introduction

Now that you understand more about the product that supposedly 'cleans your hair and skin' on the inside it has all of those chemicals (such as paraffinum liquidum which can cause breast cancer). Aside from the chemicals you need to remember the recycling process how it will just be re-used although im sure there is no real way to get away from doing that other than wasting all of the Earth's plastics.

Head and shoulders is a very successful company a question some may ask if it is because of good marketing or is it due to the audience that uses it? The answer is both Head and shoulders put millions of dollars into testing and perfecting their products. However it is not all blue skies there is a lot that you don't know about Head and Shoulders but we hope to enlighten you on this unclear matter.
