Venomous Cabbage

What is Venomous Cabbage?

Genetic Modification

The scorpion venom must first be engineered so that it is harmless to humans, but effective against insects. This venomous substance is called Androctonus Australis Hector. Modified name=AaIT. (contains 70 amino acids and cases necrosis and tissue damage)

DNA and RNA Protein Synthesis

Process of Transgenesis/Cisgenesis

One simple way is to blast the genes with chemicals or radiation.

mRNA is made from DNA, mRNA is tranfered from nucleus to ribosomes, ribosomes match nucleotides to tRNA, amino acid added to growing protein chain, ribosomes hit code to "stop".

Interesting Facts

  • Venom from a scorpion is extracted and placed into the DNA of the cabbage.

The Non-Benefits

It disrupts the food web of the surrounding environment and can cause significant damage to the ecosystem.

Benefits

Some of the benefits of genetically modifying

cabbage is that it decreases the amount of pesticide usage on farms and costs less to provide yearly crops.

Drive

The modified venom gene is injected into the cabbage's DNA structure, and the cabbage develops with the venomous properties and is cultivated!

These genetically modified cabbages contain

poison extracted from the DNA of scorpions. This poison is not harmful to humans.

Venomous cabbages are just like normal cabbages but instead of being treated with many harmful pesticides, they are given poison from scorpions. This kills caterpillars and other insects that try to eat it. Even though the cabbages are poisonous to some insects, they are still safe for humans to consume.
