The agglomeration has a population of over 850,000, rising to 1.3 million if one includes the zone of influence. This is over two thirds of Primorye’s total population.

Winters are dry and cold with sunny weather. Springs are long, cool, with often temperature changes. Summers are warm and humid, with maximum of precipitation. Autumns as a rule are warm and dry.

Primorsky Territory is located in the south of the Russian Far East. It shares a border with Khabarovsk Region, with China to the west, with North Korea to the southwest, and with the Sea of ​​Japan to the south and east.
