Work Camps for men during the great
depression
The great depression started in 1929 and carried out until the late 1930s. it was a very tough time on all Canadians, they were only paid up to 20 cents a day. This lead to poverty, broken homes and many more troubles on Candian turf.
Japanese Canadians, Mainly in BC, were highly discriminated against. Simply because Japan is where their parents or even grand parents came from. this was a very dark time in our history as we hated the Germans for how they treated the jews yet we treated the Japanese Canadians the same; everywhere from the ghettos, to even identification.
What may be the most infamous battle of them all,

This petition was signed to help out the Jewish people escaping Europe. this is very important as the government did this in a time where the people hated the Jews. The government did not listen and helped these innocent people anyways.

Canada wanted to step out of Brittans shadow as its own country, by declaring war against the Germans on their own and not under British command, they showed great progress towards independence, but it caused a lot of financial stress in the country amongst many many other problems

This battle fought on french soil was very important. it taught the Canadians a huge lesson; 1) the Germans are always prepared. 2) always be well trained and prepared yourself. With 280 deaths that day, it was truly tragic.
