* Adipose tissue cushions and protects the organs it surrounds.
* It is located around the heart, the kidneys, joints, and eye sockets.
*Catcher gear is also located in all these places and provides a protective function.
is like a wall
* A wall covers a protects the internal parts of the home. Simple squamous epithelial covers and protects the organs.
* Walls line the hallways in home, and simple squamous tissues line the internal passageways in the body.
* Simple squamous tissue is one layer thick, just like a wall.
is like rope

Helen Russell
is like the foundation of a house
* Dense connective tissue attaches in parts all over the body.
* Both dense connective tissue and rope can withstand great strain and tension.
* It is long and able to stretch slightly.
* Its functions include: strong support aid, heavy pressure, compressible and being able to resist tension.
* The foundation of a house has to support the weight and pressure of a house, therefore these two are very similar.
is like telephone wires
is like a rubberband
*Nervous tissue`s purpose is to transmit and receive external and internal stimuli.
* Telephone wires carry all sorts of information across cities everyday.
* Elastic cartilage is extremely flexible and able to withstand repeated bending. It has a slight yellow color and can often be supportive, just like a elastic rubberband.
is like lubricant
Is like a brick
* Hyaline cartilage provides smooth surfaces, enabling tissues to move/slide easily over each other.
* Lubricants such as oil and grease, allow surfaces to move more smoothly over one another.
* It is hard, dense, and strong
* It is contains pores, just like bone contains cavities called lacunae
* Over time, both can wear down and weaken
is like a balloon
is like a school bus
* Transitional epithelial cells stretch readily in order to accommodate fluctuation of volume of the liquid in an organ. It is located in the bladder.
* A balloon grows and shrinks in relation to whatever is within it.

* Its main purpose is to circulate throughout the body. While it circulates, it transports nutrients, gases, wastes, and hormones.
*A school bus transports different students to different places, just as blood does.
