R.B Bennett was the new elected prime minister
of Canada. He was a very good person and would sometimes go into his own pockets to help out people that wrote to him during the depression. People voted for him in relief of the suffering they had been going through with Mackenzie King.

There were many things about the 20s and 30s that made them very different for people to adapt to. New things worked off of each other to make it harder for people to survive. Around this time people started trying to show off that they were wealthy; this could be the reason the crash was so bad.
In the booming 20s, Canadians were getting to much American things imported to them and they felt that they were loosing their culture. They were also afraid of the amount of American radio.
During the Great Depression, people were looking to get their minds off of the hard times and they wanted to embrace their culture. Dancing and music were their getaway. There were many bands that played jazz and the people would dance and be happy.
This picture shows a happy family during the 1920s that have used the stock market to buy a new car.
In this picture, there is a man that lost everything due to the stock crash so he has to try and sell his car.
This all happened because of the stock market crash and the loss of many jobs due to the crash.
The reason dancing and music is so big today could be
because of the great depression; we still use it for the same reason, to set our minds free and relax.
Car manufacturers were producing so many cars and when everyone had one the money making stopped so they went bankrupt.

Men return from the war looking for work. Economy begins to rise and start booming with the new idea of assembly lines. People began buying stocks to make even more money.
The economy dropped on a day known as "Black
Tuesday" this bankrupt many people and left thousands with no jobs and living on the streets.
In the roaring 20s, women were very covered up
when they went out. It was not good to show your legs.
In the 1930s, women's dresses started to get shorter, it was considered normal for them to show their legs.
When the soldiers returned home, they were expecting to return to their jobs but got an unwelcoming surprise, most were unemployed when they returned. The companies that had thrived off the war were paying low wages and had poor working conditions, which lead to the Winnipeg General Strike of 1919.
This is significant because it lead to the kind of clothing that is acceptable to wear today compared to what it would be like if we had to wear that style in this new world.
The economy crash caused the "great depression" and put almost everyone in poverty and bankrupt.
