- In a one-on-one conversation, 85% of the subjects actually asked for help.

Curiosity of why so many people would stand back and watch and just wait for someone else to help led John Darley and Bibb Latané to conduct an experiment
The results were bothersome to see that such a low percentage were helping or trying to help
