Setting

Time: Close to midnight

Place: Alley, Pub, Sidewalk

Mood: Sad and Suspence

Character

Point of view

Third person omniscient because the narrator knew what was going around Andy and what was going inside his head. Also the author was telling the story from his point of view not like for example Lauras or Freddies or even Andys.

Conflict

Man vs himself: Andy vs his pain

Man vs man: Andy vs Guardian

Man vs Nature: Andy vs Rain

Rising action

Climax

Andy with all his energy took his jacket off because he didn't want to be remembered as a "Royal" but as Andy, also he wanted to die as Andy not as a Royal.

Conclusion

After Andy's effort taking off his jacket he finally did take it off and felt proud of himself. After he died Laura came and went to get a cop to report of the murder and she did and the cop wrote on the keypad "A Royal".

Quotations

Question?

Is Andy's death a result of his individual identity or group identity?

1) Group identity: because if Andy wasn't a royal he wouldn't have been stabbed by the Guardians. Also Andy said himself that he never wanted to be a Royal, he just wanted to be a Royal to fit in with the others

Symbol

We chose this symbol to represent this story because A mere jacket can not identify your own identity, you create your own not by others.

On the Sidewalk Bleeding

'Evan Hunter'

1. Andy was stabbed by a Guardian in the alley

2. When no one wants to help him, he realised he was dying

3. Andy died 20 minutes after the incident

We believe that Andy is the protagonist because he is the main focus of the story, we read about his last 20 minutes of his life and experience what he felt like.

Also The Guardians should be the antagonist because they started the main conflict by stabbing Andy

Why the other people are minor characters are because they just play a minor part in the story, but define the main character and set's a mood when he/she enters

1 "I don't want to die yet"

2. "I haven't lived yet

This are important quotations because Andy was just a 16 year old boy who did not live his life to the fullest. He had no family to raise and a house to live in.

“I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to.”
