After a forty year journey in the desert towards the Promise Land, Canaan, God gives Moses the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai. They formed a new covenant and are the Israelites’ foundation for laws.
Moses dies when he was 127 years old in the Land of Moab, where he is also buried. All the Israelites wept for him for thirty days.
When Pharaoh’s firstborn is dead he orders all the Israelites to leave Egypt with Moses leading them. They run into trouble with egyptian soldiers at the Red Sea, but God aids them when he empowers Moses to part the waters allowing them to cross.
God sends down inflictions upon Egypt to have Pharaoh turn his attention toward the Israelites. This involves turning water into blood, boils,death of the first born, and many more.
Moses approaches a burning bush that is not being consumed by the fire, and discovers that it is the Lord. God then commission Moses that he must save the Israelites in Egypt.
God orders all the Israelites to feast on unleavened bread and a lamb and use its blood to mark their doors so he will pass over them when he is scoring through Egypt for each first-born.
As Moses is floating down the Nile, Pharaoh’s daughter sees him in a basket and decides to keep him. She raises him into the Egyptian lifestyle as her own.
Being God’s messenger, Moses and his brother Aaron go to the new Pharaoh and ask him to release the Israelites of slavery. He does not allow it and Moses and Aaron warn Pharaoh that acts of judgment will come upon Egypt.
When Moses is caught striking an Egyptian and hiding him in the sand, he flees to Midian for safety. After defending and watering the flock of a priest, he gives Moses one of his daughters, Zipporah, in marriage who bears him a son, Gershom.
Moses is born as a Hebrew into a Levite family, but after hearing the oppression of the Israelites his mother puts him in a basket and into the Nile River. He is being watched and followed by his older sister Miriam for safety.
