The American Tories are basically the loyalists; the people who remained loyal to Britian during the American Revolution.
The only real achievement that the loyalists could achieve was being recruited into the British army and help fight. They were just normal people so that kind of made it hard for them to make real changes. Another achievement of the loyalists was that most of them didn't believe in slavery because it had been banned in Britain. The third victory of the loyalists was that they attacked and took control of New York City.
The tories were a big threat to one specific group; the revolutionaries. The loyalists would tell the British about things the revolutionaries were doing, or storing.
Canada was actually a major location for the British loyalists, because Canada was a loyal nation to Britian; they could use this location to store ammunition, soldiers, and, navy. This nation was over all good for Britian in the way that they could attack rica faster.
