What The Capture Theory Is
The capture theory was proposed by Woolfson in 1964. Sadly for Woolfson his theory received little support.
It is the theory that a low density proto star passed our sun. The capture theory also says the solar system and the sun were formed around the same time.

Our theory -
We believe that the capture theory is that our planets were in deep space and then were captured by the sun's gravity.
What happened
The sun's gravity ripped material from the outer passing low density proto star's atmosphere. The material that was ripped from the proto star soon formed our solar system and out planets.
Is it a good theory?
A lot people don't believe in the Capture Theory. They don't believe in it because computer re-models show that the material ripped off from the proto star would have gone back into the sun or back into the proto star. That or gone out towards space. Thus not creating the planets.
