STAGE 3: BUILDING TRUST

STAGE 2: DISCOVERING

The time you spend in the mentor-mentee relationship building it up:

  • Being consistent, committed and invested in the relationship
  • Allowing your mentee to express their interests and leading the interactions

Meetings between you and your mentee:

  • Learning more about each other
  • School Tours
  • Get an idea what your mentee’s needs + goals are

Besides during Program time, when can spend time with your mentee to help and get to know them more?

The Importance of Effective Closure + Wrap-Up

Imagine suddenly feeling like you don't have anyone to depend on outside of Mentorship Program.

Imagine feeling 'abandoned' or 'let down' and how that would affect you if you suddenly felt lonely.

It is important to make sure newcomers feel that when your term as their Peer Mentor is done, you should prepare them for this transition.

Refer to Page 19 in your Manuals:

Look over the different ways you can make sure newcomers do not feel left behind or lonely when you are no longer their Peer Mentor.

Can you think of any other ways you can do this?
