Who founded Bone Cabin?

Walter W. Granger is a plaeontologist from American Museum of natural History.

He came upon a hillside littered with dinosuar fossil fragments from the Jurassic period

What is Bone Cabin?

Bone Cabin is a cabin entirely made from fossil bone.

When at Bone Cabin?

Walter Granger founded it in August of 1897.

But kept it secret until the summer of 1898 to gather the manpower to excavate the site.

Excavated from 1898 to 1905.

Dinosuars Found?

Basic findings:

  • Stegosaurus
  • Allosaurus
  • Apatosarus

Gargoyleosaurus

  • found in 1996 at Bone Cabin Quarry West of Albaney County, Wyoming.

Brontosaurus

  • Discovered by Granger in 1898
  • Took a whole summer to extract it from rock.

Where is Bone Cabin?
