Bohr Published 3 books in his life:

  • The Theory of Spectra Atomic Constitution in 1922
  • Atomic Theory and the Description of Nature in 1934
  • The Unity of Knowledge in 1955

Bohr also came up with the "Liquid Droplet Theory" in 1936 which significantly boosted scientists' understanding of nuclear fission.

However, Bohr's greatest contribution to modern physics was the Atomic Model which showed the atom as a small, positively charged nucleus surrounded by orbiting electrons.

Fun Fact

  • In 1916 Bohr became the Professor of Theoretical Physics at Copenhagen University
  • He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922
  • He was a Physicist
  • He was called The Father of Quantum Theory

Death

Neil Bohr Died on November 18 1962 in Copenhagen Denmark .

Cause- Stroke / Heart Failure

During World War 2 the Bohr family escaped to Sweden, with Bohr eventually making his way to the U.S. as well. Bohr then worked with the Manhattan Project in Nevada, where the first atom bomb was being created. Because he had concerns about how the bomb could be used,

  • Neil Bohr was born Copenhagen, Denmark on October7 1885.
  • His Father was a professor of physiology at the University of Copenhagen
  • He Came from a Wealthy family
  • He was the second of three kids he had a brother Harald and sister Jenny
  • He went to school at the Gammelholm Latin School and later started undergraduate classes at Copenhagen University
  • He Majored in Physics

Bohr stated that electrons travel in fixed orbits around the atom's nucleus, and further explained how electrons emit or absorb energy this work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922
