How an animal cell is Like a Baseball field

Mitochodria

Analogy- the players are like the mitochondria of an animal cell because they create the energy for the game, they are like the "powerhouses" of the field.

Vacuole

Analogy- The bullpen is where reserves are kept, like relief pitchers and extra equipment. The vacuole in a cell also holds rerves in a cell.

Cell Membrane

Endoplasmic Reticulum

Analogy- The stadium stands of a baseball field is like the cell membrane becuase the both determine who goes in and who goes out .

Nucleus

Analogy- the walkway to and from seats is like the the endoplasmic reticulum of the cell because they allow the fans to travel throughout the stadium. The E.R. moves material from one part of the celll to the next

Golgi bodies

Analogies- The dugout on a baseball field is like the golgi bodies in a cell. They both repackage things to make them useful for the rest of the cell(players and proteins).

Pitcher's Mound- The Pitcher's mound is were all of the player's responses are made, like a strikeout or a pop-up. Like the nucleus in the animal cell, the pitcher tells his teamates (or organelles) were to go to get the ball.

Come back Craig

Ribisomes

Analogy- The fans are like the ribisomes of an animal cell because the fans produce lots of things to help the team, like cheering the home team on. ribisomes produce proteins which the cell uses.

DNA

Cytoplasm

Analogy- the grass on a baseball field is like cytoplasm of an animal cell because it help give the field shape and the cytoplasm help gove the animal cell shape.

Analogy- the DNA of the cell is like the manager

of the team. The manager has the code and rules

that the team uses to play And win.

Lysosome

Analogy- the Lysosomes in an animal cell are like the ground crew on a baseball field. They both clean up after something is done or becomes unable to use
