Mission Statement

Accomplishments

The Road So Far
Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter is a safe haven for abused and neglected children and homeless teens throughout the state of South Carolina. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children have access to after-school programs, tutoring, recreational and social activities. We offer a broad range of services that concentrate on personal healing and development including medical attention, mental health care, crisis adjustment and transitional counseling.

Since the Shelter opened in 1977, we have cared for more than 7,000 at-risk children from newborn to age 18.
About Palmetto Place
Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter is a temporary shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children in the Midlands. The Shelter cares for kids 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When home is not a safe and loving place, we open our doors and offer each child the opportunity for a better, healthier and more productive future.

This money helps us provide kids with much more than food and shelter. We’re able to make sure kids can participate in after school activities, go to the fair, get a Halloween costume, celebrate birthdays, Christmas and many other milestones and so much more throughout the year!
With your support we were able to raise $30,000 for Palmetto Place!
