A run down side of town. Home to the Greasers.
(Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darry, Johnny, Dally and Steve)
Ponyboy comes home late and Darry slaps Him across the face. Ponyboy and Johnny run away. They get to the park and run into some socs, the same ones that had jumped Johnny earlier and scared him for life.
One of the Socs forces Ponyboy under the fountain so he would drown. Johnny pulls out his switch blade and stabbed him the rest of the Socs flead.
Ponyboy and Johnny go to Dally for help. Dally instructs them to go to an abandon church and stay put until he arrives. So Ponyboy and Johnny do what he told them to do.
A few days later Dally shows up and takes them to Dairy Queen. When they got back the church was up in flames. They figure out there was a school group there, then they herd children scream from inside the Church. Ponyboy, Johnny and Dally go into the church.
Everyone is in the hospital and glad to see each other an waiting to hear from Dally and Johnnys results.
Dally turns out to have a minor burn and Johnny has a burned back and may have broken his
Darry, Sodapop, Steve, Two Bit and Ponyboy go to a rumble with the Socs and end up winning
Dally takes Ponyboy to the hospital to visit Johnny. Ponyboy has to face the death of Johnny, his last words were to him "Stay gold kid stay gold" leaving ponyboy very confused, Dally does not take this well and runs out the hospital
Ponyboy, Darry and Sodapop get a call from Dally and he tells him that he just robbed a grocery store and to meet him at the vacant lot. When they get there they see Dally running towards the car with the cops after him. Dally pulls a gun on the cops and they shot him right under the street lamp "This is what he wanted" Ponyboy thought "this is what he wanted...to die"
Later in life Ponyboy finally has the courage to finish the book Johnny had left him, Gone with the Wind. Inside the book their was a note from him saying: Stay gold kid Stay gold.
Ponyboy was standing in front of the movie theater with onlt two things on his mind a ride home and...

They all get bad burns, Johnny got the worst of all. A beam had fell on him back and broke it.
