Learning Objective: You will create an organic form in solid modeling software.

Essential Question: What primitives and tools are needed to create organic forms?

Please recall the basic class rules:

1. One person addresses the class at a time

2. Genuine effort

School-wide Rules (classroom and hallway):

  • No cell phones/headphones
  • No hats or hoodies.

Unit 4: Model Organic Forms

Driver & Navigator!

Review the Roles & Responsibilities

Do Now: Today you're going to continue to develop you're alien design. The parts you are adding today? The eyes and mouth!

1. Ms. Ross just finished designing an eye. What should she do to create the other?

  • The Navigator (aka. the brain): The navigator provides all instructions for the driver. If there is an equation to derive, the Navigator does the deriving.
  • The Driver (aka. the muscle): The driver does exactly what the navigator says. No more, no less.

2. What tools should she use to ensure that both eyes are placed perfectly symmetrically on top of the head?
