The colonist sailed to Boston and they dropped the boxes of tea in the Boston Harbor.
British government started created new
taxes in 1764. The sugar act where they
tried to control the smugglers who brought
tax-free sugar and molasses. The colonist did not mind taxes at all. But they felt they should not be taxed when they had no representatives in the British government to defend their interests.
