Egypt

Religion was a key aspect of ancient Egyptian culture. Many of the gods that Egyptians worshiped were associated with forces of nature. The god of the Nile River, for example, was Osiris, whose death and rebirth were linked with the river's rise and fall.

Without the river's-giving bounty, Egypt would be as barren as the desserts that surround it.

At first, villages along the Nile were divided into two countries: Upper Egypt in the South and Lower Egypt in the North.
