A rating scale that is numerical in form
Can be demonstrated visually or verbally.
Horizontally or vertically.

Numbers on the scale are able to represent words.
Numerical Scales
CYW's can adjust the scale to meet the needs of each individual.
EX: Non verbal child, or to the interests/likes. (Using pictures)
EX: CYW uses it as a self-regulation tool.
1 being calm
5 becoming upset, anxiety arising
10 needing to walk down, needing space.

If the behaviour occurs more or less in morning or afternoon/at home or at school.
Monitoring how intense the behaviours are.
1 being not like the child.
2 being somewhat like the child.
3 being a lot like the child.
EX 2: On a scale of 1-10 how happy are you with your life at the moment? Doing it many days/weeks recording how they were feeling one day versus the next.
