The Induction Motor is long lasting, efficient, quiet and can be applied to locations where brush motors will not work.
Your home is full of them in the form of refrigerators, washer-dryers, air conditioning, furnaces, fans, pumping water, and many other applications.
Many of Tesla's inventions revelutionalized every day services such as radio stations, electricity, hydro-power and more.
" In 1887 and 1888 Tesla had an experimental shop at 89 Liberty Street, New York, and there he invented the induction motor."
The Induction Motor was pataneted in May 1888, Tesla was only 31 years old when he created the Motor. Tesla made numerous inventions over his lifetime and had over 300 hundred patents.
"One of the things Tesla developed at that laboratory in 1887 was an induction motor that ran on alternating current, a power system format that was starting to be built in Europe and the US because of its advantages in long distance high voltage transmission. The motor used polyphase current which generated a rotating magnetic field to turn the motor (a principle Tesla claimed to have conceived of in 1882.) This innovative electric motor, patented in May 1888, was a simple self-starting design that did not need a commutator, thus avoiding sparking and the high maintenance of constantly servicing and replacing mechanical brushes" (Wikipedia.)

Tesla arrived in New York in 1884 and was hired as an engineer at Thomas Edison’s Manhattan headquarters. He worked there for a year, impressing Edison with his diligence.
The downfall: 'At one point Edison told Tesla he would pay $50,000 for an improved design for his DC dynamos. After months of experimentation, Tesla presented a solution and asked for the money. Edison demurred, saying, “Tesla, you don’t understand our American humor.” Tesla quit soon after.'
The two went through lawsuits from each other over the years and were always on bad terms.
"Nikola was an inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist.
Nikola Tesla was born in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His father was a priest in the Serbian Orthodox church and his mother managed the family’s farm. In 1863 Tesla’s brother Daniel was killed in a riding accident. The shock of the loss unsettled the 7-year-old Tesla, who reported seeing visions—the first signs of his lifelong mental illnesses."
Tesla's significant inventions and contributions include the Induction motor, the Tesla coil, the Radio, Neon Lights. etc.
