Jason's journey up the mountain is almost an exact reenactment of Muskawashee's journey. The difference is that Jason had the help of Muskawashee, guiding him so that he succeeds where Muskawashee failed.
The tragic death of Muskawashee and the salvation of Jason by the hands of Muskawashee's spirit. Jason then grabs a feather from the eagle's nest.
Jason struggles while climbing the mountain. The uneven ground, the tall trees, and the overall rough terrain continued to wear him out, but with his goal in sight, he began to hurry up the mountain. Meanwhile, the search for Jason had already began, except that Ralph and Barry did not inform the camp counsellors of Jason's location.
McNabb and the camp counsellor had arrived to help Jason down the mountain. They had just witnessed Muskawashee save Jason's life.
Both Ralph and Barry stereotyped Jason as being a "typical Indian" and constantly made fun of Jason for that reason. Eventually they provoked Jason into attempting the same treacherous climb that Muskawashee endured, just so Jason could prove that he was in fact Indian.
The story told to the campground featuring Muskawashee. Story follows Muskawashee’s treacherous journey to become a warrior, up the mountain and his eventual fall to his death.
