Marriage and Stress
By Chris Woolston, M.S.
If you're married, you already know that your spouse is an enormous influence on your life. What you may not realize is that he or she also can also have a profound effect on your health. On the other hand, unhappy marriages can drag partners down in body and spirit. Fights (both heated and long-simmering), uncertainty about the future, unequal workloads, and a basic lack of compatibility can all generate unhealthy levels of stress.
"Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me"

"It was Brently Mallard who entered, a little travel - stained...(Chopin 20) Mrs.Mallard felt trapped, the news of the death freed her. Mrs.Mallard was blinded with the joyful news, that when the news was found to be untrue, it shocked her massively leading her to die. Here, the forbidden joy of independence can be portrayed as a joy that kills!

"The delicious breath of rain was in the air" - (Chopin 5) When Mrs.Mallard heard the news about her husbands death, she was overwhelmed. She saw life in a new perspective. This is when the theme, of the forbidden joy, starts to develop.
The forbidden joy of independence!
