  • A girl named Mai is a boat refugee and she met a lady named Chi Quyen and they have become like sisters. Mai watched Chi Quyen's son- Truong. Many people on the boat got sick including them, there was limited food and water, and some people died. Mai made it to the land healthy but some others did not.

  • Sarah goes to Iran for her friend Parvin and tries to reconnect with her and gives her support. Something awful happens...

Hiroshima is an orphan and is stuck in her everyday routine she has to do but doesn't want that anymore. Her mother comes on visiting days but she also wants more than that and wants to leave.

Halflead Bay

  • Jamie might have to move to Maroomba because his mother has cancer and his dad thinks it would be good for her plus the medicine there can help her. While that's going on, Jamie starts liking a girl named Alison and a bully named Dory is after him. Jamie is going to fight back.

  • Main characters: Juan or known as Ron, El Padre, and Xavier.
  • Nam's dad comes to visit him in Iowa. He moved to America because his passion of writing. Nam doesn't really get along with his dad because of how his dad use to treat him. While his dad is visiting he is writing a story about Vietnam. His life experience, and his father. His father is unhappy once reading it so he does something pretty bad.

  • Juan is always on the move, hiding, and running away with his mom. Juan and his friend Xavier are criminals because of an incident. After that Juan was hired by El Padre to do missions. One of them tests his friendship with Xavier and he does not know what to do.
  • Main characters: Henry, Elise, and Olivia
  • Henry and Olivia has a child named Elise. He hasn't met her in over 17 years, the last time he saw her was when she was 1 now she is 18. So now he has to go see her again but her daughter doesn't really care or want him around.
