Pottery has changed throughout Persian history
The demands of the government and new forms of sculptor have influenced pottery
Classic Music
Pre-Revolution: Classic music was played at the royal courts of the monarchy and played by many people using casette tapes
Post-Revolution: There was a boost in the use of classical music. Woman soloists are only allowed to preform for female audiences
Pop Music
Pre-Revolution: This genre of music was introduced by Vigen. He used electric guitars and became incredibly popular. Another famous singer was Googoosh
Post-Revolution: Pop music became very dark due to the new Islamic laws and restrictions
Symphonic Music
Pre-Revolution: Symphonic music has been a major part of Iranian music history. Opera was first introduced in Persia.
Post-Revolution: The orchestras of Radio Iran fell apart
Pre-Revolution
1937-1948 there was an absence of film production
The 1950's and 1960's produced 65 commercial films adn 324 films
Ganj-e-Qarun,made in 1965 by Yasami, raised the economy of Iranian cinema
Post-Revolution
Films were banned because they were viewed as products of the West and many theaters were burned down
Love was no longer a theme in movies after the introduction of guidelines for filmmakers
Woman started to become filmmakers after the Revolution
A famous female filmmaker is Puran Derkhshandeh

Football is the most popular sport in Iran
Iran has competed in 10 international football competitions
Free-Style Wrestling is the national sport of Iran
Martial Arts is one of the most popualr sports in Iran
Women have strict requirements when competing in Iran.
Women are not allowed in stadiums to watch or participate in any athletic events because men are not fully dressed while playing sports
Iranian schools offer sport for girls.
Women take part in football, taekwondo, chess, and track and field events.
