Film Spring Open is co-financed by the culture and film institutions. This lets organizers offer a great training programme for the registration fee of only about 70 euro.
All the equipment for rent and software are available with no additional fees.
Film Spring Workshop 2017 was co-financed by Creative Europe MEDIA Sub-programme, audiovisual training, The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Polish Film Institute, The City of Krakow and Małopolska Region.

Last year's edition was a great success. We hosted over 350 guests and film experts from Poland and abroad
and the record number of technology partners who delivered equipment worth over 1,6 million Euro.
The special guest was Neil Corbould, a two-time Oscar winner for special effects (Gravity, Gladiator).

In 2015 Film Spring Open was awarded for the best professional training programme by the Polish Film Institute.

Film Spring Workshop is a unique meeting point for film and new media professionals, students and debutants, who can develop their artistic and technical skills in a spirit of cooperation and shared passion for cinema. Our participants attend workshops and lectures from award-winning top professionals, participate in screenings and meetings with film directors, learn new technologies, test hands-on the newest equipment and most of all, make their films using the best film equipment available on the market. Film Spring Workshop’s exceptional educational formula is based on learning through working as well as on modern approach to film making and venturing into the future in the audio-visual sector.

Initiator of Film Spring Open - Sławomir Idziak- is an Oscar nominated cinematographer especially known for Kieslowski’s Double Life of Veronique, Three colours: Blue, Short film about killing, as well as Gattaca, Black Hawk Down, King Arthur, Harry Potter and The Order of Phoenix.
Film Spring Workshop is attended every year by young people from across Europe e.g. Poland, Germany, Great Britain, France, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and from further away, e.g. Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Canada. We host representatives of all professions from the industry: directors, cinematographers, actors, writers, editors, specialists in digital effects and post-production, painters, sculptors, body painting specialists, programmers, animators, graphic designers, game developers, producers, composers, musicians, artists, sound engineers, YouTubers. We welcome young debutants, artists, film and art students and graduates, young entrepreneurs as well as experienced professionals working in the audio-visual sector.
Film Spring Open lectures are streamed live and later made available for a wider audience on our YouTube channel.
Our participants have at their disposal a film equipment warehouse, a lighting warehouse, technical advice centre, professional gaffers helping with set lighting, editing room with several high-tech workstations and regular editing and programming supervision, and a screening room.
Starting from 2016 they can also use the Cinebus – a mobile film studio, which is a tool of the New Production Model advocated by us.
