Appliances

A Solar Water Heater is a system in which the sun's heat is gathered by a solar collector and used to increase the temperature of fluids which flows through the collector. The cost for the Solar Water Heater is about $4,000, as for the installation can cost between $5,000 to almost $20,000. The best thing about this energy saver is that you'll save about $200.

Appliances

Induction Stove

This uses a style of induction heating. This specific stove is different from other stove tops. This stove top is generated by a cooking vessel its not powered by electric coils or burning gas. The Induction Stove cost is in between from $1,850 to $2,140. The Installation for a Induction Stove can go for $35 to almost $200. I personally feel that the benefits is amazing because you save more petroleum/oil than you do for electric or gas stoves. Also, I feel it's safe around children.

LED Light Bulbs

A Solar Attic Panel is a sun-powered that removes the heat from the attic. Kinda like a regular solar panel but for this specific solar panel it just helps the house stay cool. The cost for the Solar Attic Panel is almost $300 but as for the installation it depends on what Solar Attic Panel you get. If you get a small panel then most likely you can install it yourself, but if you get the medium or large size panel then the cost for installation would be around $2,000. The best thing about this energy source is that you can save up to 35% on cooling cost.

One LED light bulb lasts more than 7 years, about every ten years you would need buy at least 2 LED light bulbs. The cost of a regular light bulbs in ten years is an estimate of $983.56. However, LED light bulbs in ten years is about $130.74 therefore saving about $852.82

High Efficiency Washer/Dryer

The model I choose for my washer/dryer is top load because they conserve water and money. The cost of the washer was about $1,500 and the dryer was about $1,000. For the installation the washer was about $220 but the dryer didn't cost a thing. The High Efficiency Detergent was about $11.00. However, the benefits for this High Efficiency Washer/Dryer is that its gentle on clothes and also saves a lot of water.

Non-Renewable

Non-Renewable vs Renewable

Research Sources

Petroleum/Oil- is a non-renewable resource that is used in homes because it heats up our building and even homes. However, a small amount of electricity is produced by Petroleum/Oil.

The Difference between renewable and non-renewable resources is that renewable resources is any natural resource such as wood or solar energy that can be replenished naturally with the passage of time. Nonrenewable resources are things such as minerals, fossil fuels, and other materials present in essentially fixed amounts within human time scales in our environment.

Non-Renewable

Coal- is used primarily as an energy source, either for heat or electricity. However, back in the 19th century they used coal for cooking.

Natural Gas- supplied to homes through pipes where it is used for many purposes including natural gas-powered ranges and ovens, natural gas-heated clothes dryers, heating/cooling, and central heating. Home or other building heating may include boilers, furnaces, and water heaters.
