micro-current

Micro-current origins

• Medical profession used the current

• Used for bells palsy, facial paralysis due to strokes, wound healing and pain control

• The machines have been modified so they can be used for cosmetic purposes

Contra-indications

•Migraine

•Epilepsy

•Avoid passing the current through the eyeball

•Malignant tumours and undiagnosed lumps

•Avoid areas of recent bruising or any bleeding

•Through the cardiac area

•Collagen implants may move about

•Cuts and abrasions

•Near collagen implants

•Botox injections

•Heart condition

•Pace makers

•Metal in treatment area

•Plus all other contra-indications for electrical treatments

Reasons for use/benefits of micro-current

• To improve the appearance of sagging muscles

• Firms and lifts muscles myofibrils

• Improved muscle functioning

• Stimulates fibro blast cells

• Increases the production of ATP (energy for cellular activity)

• Improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and creases

• Improves skin texture and colour through improved circulation

• Alters facial contours

• Reduces puffiness through lymph drainage

• Preventative measure to slow down ageing process of skin tissues

• Softens scar tissue

• Promotes relaxation

• Tightens and reduces open pores

• Cleanses and rebalances moisture levels

What is micro-current?

• A very low intensity direct current

• The current has been scaled down. It is not strong enough to move muscle proteins therefore it is not strong enough to stimulate the motor point

• Modified to produce low frequency pulses of differing wave forms

Types of product

•Gels – ionised gels

•Serums – specialised products for skin conditions

•Ampoules – specialised products for skin conditions

•Electro-lotion – breaks down skins resistance to electrical current.

Home care

•Skin care products

•Balanced diet/fluid intake

•Exercise: face

•Course of treatments:12 or 14

•Frequency 2

•3 times a week

•Maintenance 1-2 per month

Re-cap your muscles !

Muscles are attached by their tendons to 2 bones.

The attachment to the bone that is stationary is called the ORIGIN

The attachment to the bone that moves is called the Insertion
