Brisbane is a very long city as it is along the eastern coast of Australia therefore some parts are on the water (Beaches). The reason for Brisbane being near water is because many middle parts of Australia don’t get much water or rain and many country towns are located in the middle parts of Australia. The longitude of Brisbane is -27.470125 and the latitude is 153.021072. Brisbane is the most crowded city in Queensland with a population of 2.3 million people.

Like Brisbane, Shanghai is on a small coast of China and is mostly surrounded by see on one side. Although it is not known for its beaches due to other countries having more tropical ones, they do have great sunsets because of where their city sits. The longitude of Shanghai is 121.408611 and the latitude is 31.005.
Paniyiri Greek Festival
The population in 2016 was recorded to be around 24,150,000. Not including travelers this is a very big number for the amount of land Shanghai actually takes up. When researching, I have found this is same with most other Asian cities (Overpopulated).
The population of Brisbane in June 2015 was recorded to be 2,308,720. As you can see, Shanghai is about twelve times bigger in population then Brisbane. Many of Australia's bigger cities are very spread out along the different coasts of Australia. (Can be seen as under populated).
BRISBANE
Although a few people had lived and explored a small part of Brisbane in 1799 it was actually established in 1824 by the Europeans.
Due to the amount of growth in this industry over the last few years an event called home textile meeting is held in shanghai every year. It is the largest event for textiles in the whole of Asia.
Shanghai Chemical Industry Park is the first industrial zone specialized in the development for this industry in China.
This is one of the many steel factories that run right across the city of Shanghai.
When was the city established and by who?
Major industries and festivals in Shanghai
In 1863 Shanghai was first established by a many explorers from England. Even though there were people after this event that said they established Shanghai first evidence shows it was definitely the British.

Hangzhou
Gold coast or tweed heads
With a population of 624,918 Gold coast is the second largest city in the state of Queensland in Australia. Although this is only around a quarter of Brisbane's population, most people from overseas travel to the gold coast over Brisbane because of its pristine beaches.
Due to Shanghai having its own province, I used Hangzhou as the next closest as it is in the province next to Shanghai (Zhejiang province). Hangzhou is known for its brilliant technology and modern architecture.
