Hrothgar is angry watching the servents mop up blood from he wall ,unther th convinced hrothgar that it was grendle. Hrothgar calls the nine lords to aid him to kill grendle . the nine lords are devoured by grendle, grendle knocks out Hrothgar , unthearth drops the brand he is holding and it land near hrothgars chest plate . the light reflects towards grendle and he flees into the fen.
Scyld has a son who had 3 sons. Hrothgar was chosen to be king of the land of Danes . He proved to be a great warrior and king whose back bone bent to no man. Hrothgar ordered a great hall called Heorot. It was built in
the honor of his grandfather Scyld and all the battles the Danes had won.
Grendel the jealous demon appears in the fen. Grendel approaches Heorot and eats every one in it, leaving the hall to be covered in blood from its victims. Hrothgar vows to kill who ever killed all his guests.
