He is a twenty-six year old male who found pornography when he was nine years old and had been watching it ever since. When he had the chance of having sexual intercourse for the first time, he could not get his body to react. He passed it off as first-timer’s nerves but as time passed and more opportunities came he soon realized that his body only responded to the sight of porn. Church soon believed that his problems were due to him watching vigorous amounts of porn and that he had what some are calling porn-induced erectile dysfunction (PIED).

• Norepinephrine: the brain’s version of adrenaline. It is responsible for making us alert, during sexual arousal it alerts the brain that something is going to happen and they need to get ready for it.
• Serotonin: it is tied to the mood. When sexual arousal happens, serotonin is released through the brain elevating someone’s senses of excitement and enjoyment.

• Oxytocin and Vasopressin: hormones released in the brain. One of those times that they are released is in response to an orgasm. They ‘bind’ a memory to the object that gives them sexual pleasure.
