Lynchpin Event:

The event that caused the tragedy of Romeo Juliet was when Romeo killed Tybalt. On my my plot map, it causes the most events to happen. It causes the Capulets to arrange Juliet's marriage, pushing the whole play into hyperdrive. It causes Friar to make the death faking potion, Paris to try and kill Romeo, and generally the ending of the play. "This is that haughty Montague that killed my love's cousin."

If this event had not happened, Romeo and Juliet would have been married happily, with. as Romeo would not have been banished. "They may kiss her hand, but Romeo may not." Capulets and the Montagues would have had to reconsider their feuding ways, and then the end to the violence might have come happier and without Romeo and Juliet dying.

Legend:

The Blue titled events are from individual choices, the Red are because of social of family pressures.

I chose these two forces because the play centered around two young people defying their family's feud. It is interesting to be able to see what good comes of individual choice, in contrast to the often negative things that come about from family and society pressures.

Event 21:

Friar John fails to deliver the letter.
