in the book ifunny, a boy named jamie grim is living with his aunts family the smilies. He is a comedian in training. He is treated special by teachers and adults. He hates it and longs to be treated like everyone else.
one day while jamie is working the cash register his uncle discovers a comedian contest for kids called "planets funniest kid comedian" which goes all through Rhode island and new york.
through the contest jamie has to deal with being picked in and made fun of by other comedians, becausethey think the judges take pity on him because he's in a wheel chair. even though their mean and rude comments jamie focuses on whats important and aims for his goals
there's something i forgot in the last slide Jamie is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. now that should clear confusion on why he's treated special.
When not working with his uncle jamie is at home with the smilies,
who put him in their garage to sleep, but don't worry its gives him room to work on his material and study his idol comedians.
In this book like all others has a sad or even uneasy to read but because of the event it pushes jamie to do his absolute best.
Jamie is like other kids, but he only has an uncle as close family. He spends every hour outside of school with him. His uncle owns a restaurant on a dock. jamie works with his uncle collecting tips as payment. He works the cash register and tells joke to all his customers.
