LISTEN TO THE STORY

Ecological foot print

humans populations and natural resources

In the late 1700's a young economist name Thomas Malthus wrote and essay saying that the population was growign faster tha the earth resources could support

oil and coal currently support our countries energy usage . they are concedered non-renewable rescources because they are use up faster than they are made ..

not all sources are non-renewable some like wind and sunlight are renewable sources because resources like these cant be used up or can replenish themselves.

Technology and humans

If this wasnt know now you know . humans need rescouces to survive but the way the resources are used threatens the welfare of humans .

the amount of land and space necessary to produce and maintain enough food and water , shelter, energy and water is called an ECOLOGICAL FOOT PRINT.

we have used technology to extend the number of people the earth can support

eg: gas powered farm tools -made it

possible to produce huge amounts of food .
