-In Costa Rica rain forests are being cut down at a shocking rate to provide humans with lumber, pasture land, and farm land. Approximately 80% of the forests of Costa Rica have disappeared.

-The mining lot in Costa Rica was recently shut down because it was very rainy and that caused polution which made peolpe sick.

Migration

-In 1974 Donald Perry, a grad student from California, was visiting Costa Rica. While in the jungle, he used a cross bow to shoot a rope and climb from tree to tree, which inspired the concept of the zipline. His invention led to a canopy of ziplines in the jungle which become a billion dollar tourist industry.

-There is a dish called the Gallo Pinto, it is a rice and black bean dish eaten for breakfest thoughout Costa Rica. The history of it isthe history of gallo pinto is not well known, and there have always been disputes between Costa Ricans and Nicaraguans about where the dish originated. Some historic references takes us to the Atlantic, where it was first mentioned in the book, Mamita Yunai, by Carlos Luis Fallas,

- Costa Rica is well known for coffee plantations. There are coffee drying plants throughout the country.

-Also Costa Rica is known for sugar mills, cheese factories, sawmills, woodworking factories, breweries, and distilleries.

-Most people get around the country by bus. They used to ride old school buses, but since 2011 many buses have been upgraded to coach buses.

-Another way to get around Costa Rica is by plane. People like it because it is quick and cheap.
