24 Hours begins with the perfect family. On the perfect night. About to become trapped in the perfect crime. Will Jennings is a successful young doctor in Jackson, Mississippi, with a thriving practice, a beautiful wife, and a five-year-old daughter he loves beyond measure. But Will and his family are being watched by a con man and psychopath who may be a genius. A man who has crafted the unbeatable crime. A man who has never been caught and whose victims have never talked to the police. A man whose life's work strikes at the heart of every family's unspoken fear: the unstoppable kidnapping.

  • 1993- He wrote Spandau Phoenix, a thriller about Nazi war criminal Rudolf Hess, became the first twelve New York Times best sellers.
  • 2002- The script for Trapped was written based from his book 24 Hours.
  • 2010- The Devil's Punchbowl reached #1 on the Times list.
  • 2011- He had a traffic accident; he ultimately lost part of his right leg.

Iles had published 13 novels in a variety of genres.

The majority of his novels were in Natchez, Mississippi. The novel 24 Hours has a couple of settings. Will is located in Biloxi, MS at a conference. But the main setting was in Jackson, MS were Karen was held hostage at their home.

  • Dr. Will Jennings was the father of five year old Abby and a husband to his wife, Karen.
  • Joe, who had never been caught after five kidnappings, had kidnapped Abby. He held Will and Karen hostage in two entirely different places. He was a psychopath.
