- Lots of Irony is used in the novel. It starts at the very beginning, when Nick hosts the garage sale.
- It is expected that all the items are useless junk, but they later seem to become a major factor in the conflict of the novel.
- Another factor is when Nick and Caitlin are about to burn all the items to get rid of them, when Nick realizes that they all connect to become one large machine.
- One of the last examples of irony used in the novel is when the asteroid is coming down to earth, about to destroy Earth.
- It is unexpected when Mr. Slate saves the day from the asteroid.
- The setting was a very important element in the novel. This is especially because the attic is what sparks the conflict of the novel.
- The attic is the main reason that the novel has any conflict whatsoever.
- The attic caused the Accelerati to start their movement towards Nick and his friends, sparking the important plot of the novel.

- The conflict consists of the items in the attic, the Accelerati, and the asteroid coming down to Earth. Nick, Caitlin, and Mitch have to worry about all three of these things throughout the novel.
- They have to worry about collecting the items in the attic, having the Accelerati watching them, and the asteroid coming down to Earth.

- This novel is about an eight grade boy named Nick Slate, who moves to Colorado Springs with his father and younger brother Danny.
- Their lives will change after a garage sale gets rid of most of the items in their attic.
- All the items in the attic have a divine purpose, and each item has one specific thing that separate them from normal objects.
- A secret agency is after these items, so Nick and his friends have to recollect these items oce owned by Tesla.
- One of these objects, a baseball glove, causes a meteorite to start hurdling towards Earth.
