There are four main suspects besides Nils Gustafsson
Hans Assman
Pauli Luoma
Pentti Soininen
Valdemar Gyllstrom
The Finnish police never closed this case, but from the information I discovered, I would say that either, Nils Gustafson or Valdemar Gyllstrom was the murderer.
1. What country did the murders occur in?
2. How old was Nils Gustafsson when the murders were committed?
3. How many girls were murdered?
4. What was the reason that the prosecution argued, in order to free Gustafsson?
5. What was the name of the lake that the murders were committed by?
6. How many suspects were there besides Nils Gustaffson?
7. What year were the murders committed?
8. Name one of the 4 main suspects.
9. How many suspects confessed to the murder?
Pauli Luoma was a runaway from a nearby work department. He was caught by the police soon after the event and he was questioned.
Hans Assman was by far the most suspected of the lot. He perfectly fitted the outlined appearance of the murderer that Gustafsson had told the police. And he only lived within 5km of Bodom, which would create quick and easy access to the lake.
Gyllstrom was a kiosk owner who was known to have hated campers and to act aggressively. In 1969 he drowned in Lake Bodom, while drunk, he confessed the murders to his neighbour, saying 'I killed them'.
Soininen was a maintenance man. He was in a prison in Kuopio when he confessed to the murders. He was often under the influence of drugs and alcohol, because of this and a few other reasons, he wasn't convicted. he hung himself at a prisoner transport station in 1969.
There were four victims of this horrendous massacre. Two girls, Tuuliki Maki (15) and Irmeli Bjorklund (15) and two boys Nils Gustafsson (18) and Seppo Boisman (18). They were all brutally stabbed and bludgeoned, three to death but one, Nils Gustafsson, was only severely injured.
