Leonardo da Vinci was a humanist thinker but he probably wouldn't call himself one. He was interested in the natural world, in the human body, in machines to improve or advance the human experience, at a time when others were also questioning the medieval and Catholic world view and wondering whether human life might be moved beyond. Leonardo was also a solitary man who had lots of curiosity and outlook which made him a humanist. Leonardo also portrayed humanist ideas through his paintings.

Niccolo Machiavelli was a humanist thinker because when he lost his job as the secretary to the chancery for the Republic of Florence in 1512. Machiavelli went back to his farm in Florence and wrote a book called the Prince trying to get his job back. His book failed to get him his job back but it influenced great political thinkers like Thomas Hobbes, Francis Bacon and John Locke. Machiavelli's book the Prince was about how citizens can run a republic. Machiavelli is also referred to as the founder of politics cause of his book the Prince.

Humanism is an outlook or system of thought that attaches prime importance to human maters rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings,that emphasize common human needs, and it seeks rational ways of solving human problems.
Niccolo Machiavelli
Humanism is also a Renaissance cultural movement that turned away from medieval scholasticism and revived interest in ancient Greek and Roman thought.
Andreas Vesalius
Andrea's Vesalius was a great anatomist who was classicist by education. He knew Greek and Latin to perfection. He always studied the ancient authors and extolled them. In this sense, Vesalius was a humanist. Vesalius also wrote a book called "Structure of the human body". He is also known as the founder of modern human anatomy. Vesalius's book had drawings that showed human dissections.
