Some examples of tuned and untuned instruments

The snare is untuned and started out being used in the military

It has two heads made out of plastice and metal wires on the bottom head

You use the drumsticks and strike the flat surface to produce sound with this instrument

The Xylophone is tuned also used in some jazz, orchestra ,and spread out in a lot of different music

The bars of a xylophone are usually made of rosewood or hard wood. You take strike the bars with a mallet to produce sound.

Tuned instruments have definite pitche. Untuned do not and are sometimes used for special effect

Tuned:Xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel, marimba, and chimes

Untuned:Snare,Drums, cowbell, gong, and tom tom
