Miss Elisabeth Walton Allen was 29 years old. She was born on Sunday October 1st, 1887, in St. Louis Missouri. Elisabeth embarked the Titanic on Wednesday April 10th, 1912. Her ticket number was 24160, and she payed 71 pounds for her ticket! That would be $114.25 in American money! She was rescued from the Titanic on lifeboat number two, which was one of the last to disembark from the ship.
Miss Elisabeth Watlon Allen was on board the Titanic, because she had gotten engaged to a British physician who lived in England. She needed to go back to St. Louis to gather her belongings so she could move to London, England with her fiance.
Elisabeth was the daughter of George W. Allen, and Lydia McMillan. George was a judge in St. Louis. Elisabeth got engaged in 1912 to Dr. James Beaver Mennell, a British physician. She later married him in a double wedding with her sister. She died on Friday Decemeber 15th, 1967, when she was 85 years old. Elisabeth was diagnosed with heart disease, which later resulted in heart failure.
