ROLE OF THE MERCHANDISER

Main Objective

To Support the Marketing department in maximizing profits for James Brodie & Co. Ltd. through Shelf Management, Planning.

THIS IS WHAT

WE DO

THE BRODIES MERCHANDISER

A. Mobilization from Point A to Point B

1. Limited time as public transportation cuts time

2. Arrive at the Store all Sweaty and portrays bad image of the company and the brands they service

3. Limits the amount of Premiums that can be transported at one given time

4. Ultimately, More time is spent on the streets than in the store.

B. They are not in a possession of a road worthy, or appropriate vehicle to get the job done correctly.

1. Merchandisers earns $200 weekly, thus cant afford vehicle

2. If merchandiser owns vehicle, company will need to cover cost of fuel, average (50 ml/w = $200 monthly)

C. Premiums and Promotions are becoming more and more important and plentiful,

1. eg. J&J now requires all Corporate Programs to be implemented

2. Additionally we are required to select 10 rather than the existing 6 key customers to service fully.
