Our Pharaoh

Was Hatshepsut a fair ruler?

Yes, Hatshepsut was a very fair ruler because she protected them ( she had the worlds largest army ) and she also enhanced the wealth of Egypt.

  • Ruled 1473-1458 BC
  • Thutmose the second ruled before her ( her half brother )
  • Thutmose the third ruled after her ( her step son )

How did she become pharaoh?

  • She was the first woman in history to rule Egypt
  • She used various strategies to legitimize her position as pharaoh
  • The only female pharaoh to erect the most buildings during her reign
  • The first woman who was king
  • Her name translates to " Foremost of Noble Women"
  • Researchers say that she died from bone cancer
  • Once she was pharaoh she took on many male attributes
  • Compared to most female rulers she ruled way longer than them
  • She is most remembered for returning a high level of economic prosperity
  • She had the worlds largest army during her reign

Her father died and she was the only sibling left in the blood line ( she also had a half brother ) so she thought it was her time to rule.

Where is Hatshepsut?

Hatshepsut was not buried in a pyramid but more of a monument. She is not in the tomb anymore her body was robbed out of the monument and has not been seen since. At night it has lights that turn on, and the tomb has lots of writing on the inside.
