Class Pets Yes or No?

  • Class pets are a yes.
  • Having a class pet can teach students responsibility.
  • Class pets can teach students achievement.
  • Achievement and responsibility helps kids feel more motivated to learn.
  • They enhance learning environments.
  • The pets should tie in with the lessons of that year.
  • Best of all pets make kids happy.
  • Happy students means a happy classroom better for learning in.

Three things you wouldn't expect to affect our learning in the school environment

1)Air

  • Clean air helps students concentrate and helps prevent bad things happening on the school ground such as an asthma attack for example.

2)Emotions

  • When students feel that they have more emotional support within a school they learn better.

3)Noises

  • Loud bells and noises will make students unhappy and stressed out going from class to class. Leading to off task and upset students.

Relationships

  • If parents are involved in the students academic achievement then students feel encouraged to learn If the parents are more involved in the student's academic work, participate in school functions, or open houses at the school. Then students feel encouraged to learn wanting to impress their parents and to make them happy.
  • Teachers with their students should all get together and plan to decorate the classroom as a team. So they all can enjoy it throughout the year, but also so the students feel happy with each other and more at ease.
  • Teachers who have billboards in their classrooms for students should encourage to have at least one student per week bring in some photos of their, family things they love to do, hobbies, pets and things to show their connections.

Surroundings Continued

Cleanliness affects our learning....WHAT? No way...

  • A clean classroom is a happy classroom.
  • No messes to work around or clutter to move.
  • Makes teachers happy by making it easier to teach.
  • Tips to help with this:
  • Safe things such as glue etc for special occasions.
  • Clean all messes when done with projects.
  • Have a five minute clean up time each day prepared (or longer depending on mess).
  • It affects students from young ages to teens.
  • Students from preschool to out of colleges are all affected.

Does your surroundings affect your learning?

Does the environment around you affect your student success?

Does the classroom setting affect your grades? ......

Yes, yes it does

Class sizes and gender do they affect class learning?

  • Smaller classes are proven to help learning and productivity.
  • Teachers can give more help in a small class of 20 kids compared to a large class of 30 kids.
  • Larger classes it is shown that teaches will usually lecture the whole period in order to try and focus/engage the students the whole time
  • Long lectures leaves no times for students to ask one on one questions in order to help them understand a topic or get help for tests.

GIRLS VS. GUYS

Girls participate more then guys. Guys are more laid back.

Girls ask a lot of questions if confused or if they need help. Guys are normally too scared to speak up

and ask questions if confused on a topic

or if they need help.

Class decor what is it?

  • Class decor is the way a classroom is set up.
  • The decorations
  • The art
  • The seating
  • Types of tables or desks
  • Books or computers
  • Many things contribute to the decor of a classroom.
  • The art on the walls makes students:
  • Motivated
  • Feel worthy
  • Happy to learn
  • Like they have no limits when it comes to their art
  • There is NO limits to their art.

Class seating what is it all about?

  • Class seating affects how students learn.
  • Certain seating arrangements can make students feel safe and at home.
  • Comfy seating makes kids feel more prepared for the day.
  • Kids who get to move around and sit where like are well behaved.
  • When kids are free to sit next to friends or pick their sits each day find it easier to find ways that they learn better.
  • All of this leads to better studying, better test scores, and high student success rates.
