School uniforms also saves families money. A recent study shows that the average family pays about $250-300 for school uniforms while the average cost for "regular clothes" is about $600. The prices may vary depending on the age of the child and where he/she goes to school. School uniforms are also significantly cheaper for families because parents only have to buy their kids "real" clothes for the weekends instead of clothes for every day of the week. School uniforms can also help low income families because uniform,s are more affordable, and the students will not feel like they don't fit in because they can't afford the latest trends and fashion.

School uniforms can reduce the amount of bullying and violence in schools. With school uniforms, students won't be able to make fun of other students for what they are wearing, or if they are keeping up with the latest trends because everyone is wearing the same thing. One school in Long Beach California found that fights between students dropped 91% after they started enforcing school uniforms.For example, Rita White, principal of Riverwood elementary in Memphis, Tennessee. worked at a school where there was lots of poverty resulting in students bullying each other because of their clothes. Well, when the district started enforcing school uniforms, the amount of bullying dropped considerably. Overall bullying and violence have decreased in almost all schools that have started enforcing school uniforms.

With school uniforms, students would not have to worry about these issues, and only focus on school, not what they are wearing in class. We are here today to talk about why schools should enforce school uniforms. School uniforms help reduce bullying, encourage discipline, cause a better learning environment, and has a low cost.

It is proven that use of school uniforms will improve the environment of public schools and improve students academics. Wearing uniforms prevents gang colors and apparel. Students are not as distracted by how they look, therefore, they spend more time learning at school. Students focus more on their school work, rather than social appearances. School Uniforms create a since of equality through out the whole school.

When students wear school uniforms they can come to school without worrying about personal safety, Studies show that uniforms dictate a stricter atmosphere and the students who wear uniforms are more likely to follow the rules. When all the students are wearing uniforms they feel like a team and not ridiculing others by what they are wearing.

When you wear school uniforms you don't have to worry about picking out your clothes in the morning or not knowing what you are going to wear. Fears of people making fun of you because of your clothes is not an issue. Also, when wearing school uniforms there is less bullying, it creates a better learning environment, encourages discipline and is more cost effective. March 1996 President Clinton presented this speech summing up why students should wear school uniforms."If it means that the schoolrooms will be more orderly and more disciplined, and that our young people will learn to evaluate themselves by what they are on the inside instead of what they're wearing on the outside, then our public schools should be able to require their students to wear uniforms."
