Example:

An argument saying that because other people are doing something, you should too.

Exampe: A commercial telling you to drink Mountain Dew because EVERYONE drinks Mountain Dew

The various methods of communicating information.

Example: Newspapers and television are both forms of media.

Textual evidence

Supporting statement with information from text.

Example: You are using textual evidence when you write the paragraph number where you found your answer next to each question on a test.

Example: It is a logical fallacy if your friend claims that Bieber is the best singer because he has the best hairstyle.

Example: The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe is from the horror genre.

Assumption

A traditional story about gods, ancestors, or heroes, told to explain the natural world or the customs of a society.

Example: The Clash of the Titans is myth about the Greek gods.

A belief or statement taken for granted without proof.

Example: If your cell phone disappears then you might have the assumption that someone stole it.
